- Gartner Peer Insight Customers Choose Mobileiron for Unified Endpoint Management, rating it 4.7 out of 5
Madrid, July 21, 2020 – Mobileiron, the mobile-centric security platform for the Everywhere Enterprise, has established itself as the ‘General Leader in Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)’, according to the latest report from KuppingerCole, an international firm of industry analysts focused on information security and identity management, on ‘Leadership Compass: Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)‘.
“We are very happy about this recognition as it is very special for us. KuppingerCole specializes in security and identity, and also has a global view of the market from both the supply and demand side,” said Brian Strachman, Director of Product Marketing at Mobileiron.
For the report, 10 UEM vendors were evaluated and three specific areas were analysed: Product, Innovation and Market Leadership. Specifically, the analysts considered the following points:
- Products that are more classic software solutions that are installed and operated locally
- Cloud and hybrid UEM solutions
- Providers that have options for operation “as a service” that allow complete UEM to be obtained as a service without the need to install and operate servers locally
- The areas of UEM that the solution focuses on (e.g. device, application, security, patching, etc.)
- The breadth of operating systems and device types that the solution can support
- The depth of endpoint life cycle management the solution provides
- The level of application software, packaging or patch management
- Solutions that provide endpoint content management and containment capabilities
UEM offers everything from device management to endpoint security
Product Leadership examines the functional strength and completeness of the Unified Endpoint Management product. “In the Product Leadership, MobileIron is at the top”, says KuppingerCole. Next, innovation was examined. Innovative companies take a customer-oriented upgrade approach, delivering customer-requested and other cutting-edge features, while maintaining compatibility with previous versions. MobileIron was found to be at the top of the innovation matrix. Market leadership includes those with the largest worldwide customer base, partner, and support network.
KuppingerCole noted that the MobileIron UEM product provides capabilities that include endpoint device, identity, content, patch, asset, license, and expense management, as well as endpoint security and device provisioning, health monitoring, and tracking capabilities. Specifically, the firm has highlighted the following strengths of Mobileiron:
- Device management
- Application management
- Content management
- Patch management
- Endpoint intelligence
- Endpoint security
- Good admin & DevOps support
KuppingerCole called out MobileIron’s capabilities beyond traditional UEM, including Mobile Threat Defense and Access, providing a passwordless multi-factor authentication and conditional access layer. MobileIron refers to this as our Zero Sign-On solution which allows customers to use their device as their identity, removing the need for any passwords for enterprise cloud services.
To sum up, KuppingerCole points out that: “Mobileiron appears in all leadership segments of the UEM Leadership Compass report. Overall, the company offers a flexible and balanced UEM offering and should be on the shortlist of any organization considering the deployment of an UEM solution.
“We at Mobileiron are very pleased with this appointment. It is further confirmation of our commitment to putting the user experience and mobile security at the forefront,” said Strachman.
